Customized high-wear-resistant chromium-zirconium copper (CuCrZr) discs/rings/flange discs - for spark electrodes and seam welding machine wheels

Product Description

This product is a disc, ring, large flange and disc-shaped workpiece made mainly of chromium-zirconium copper (CuCrZr, grade C18150) through precision processing. It combines high electrical and thermal conductivity, high hardness, wear resistance, explosion resistance and excellent high-temperature performance, making it an ideal material for manufacturing high-end resistance welding electrodes (especially seam welding machine wheels) and electrical discharge electrodes.

  1. Outstanding comprehensive working performance: Thanks to the alloying strengthening of chromium (Cr) and zirconium (Zr), this material maintains high electrical conductivity (≥75% IACS) and thermal conductivity comparable to pure copper while achieving a hardness (>75 HRB) and tensile strength (≥380 MPa) far higher than that of pure copper. This makes the product consume less energy, be more efficient and more wear-resistant during the welding and electrical discharge machining processes.

  2. Outstanding high-temperature stability: A softening temperature as high as 550℃ is one of its core advantages. This means that in a continuous high-temperature working environment, the product can maintain the stability of its shape and performance for a long time, resist softening and deformation, thereby significantly extending its service life and reducing the frequency of replacement. It is particularly suitable for high-intensity automated production scenarios.

  3. Wear-resistant and explosion-proof, safe and reliable: High hardness ensures excellent wear resistance, capable of withstanding continuous friction during seam welding and corrosion caused by electric spark discharge. Meanwhile, the material has a dense structure and excellent crack resistance (anti-explosion property), capable of withstanding sudden large current impacts and ensuring operational safety.

Main application fields

  • Resistance welding electrode: It is particularly suitable as the welding wheel of seam welding machines (roll welding machines), and is used for continuous welding operations of thin metal sheets (such as automotive fuel tanks, heat exchangers, radiators, and can packaging). It can also be used as an electrode for spot welding and projection welding.

  • Electrical discharge electrode: Due to its advantages such as "good uprightness", wear resistance and high surface finish of the processed material, it is the preferred electrode material for precision electrical discharge machining, especially for processing difficult-to-machine materials such as tungsten steel.

  • Other conductive structural components: It can be used as electrode grip rods, conductive shafts, large flange plates and other mechanical guide components that require high strength and good electrical conductivity.
